Hello, I am Abigail Gauthier, I am a sophomore majoring in architecture with a minor in sustainability. My relationship with the environment started at a young age and grew even stronger when I joined scouts. As I learned more about the effect we have on the world around us I became more interested in preserving and taking care of our “space”. I was drawn to architecture, more specifically sustainable architecture, after a trip I made to New Mexico due to an excursion to see the Earth ships. For those who do not know an Earth ship is a totally sustainable home made with recycled materials and special technologies to avoid wasting our natural resources. Seeing these buildings that were so foreign to me at the time made me realize that there are so many opportunities to improve the way we live to ensure that this world is in a better condition for the future generations.
